Our 2022 feature car is a 1950 Chevy 6400 2-ton pickup owned by Brian Dudek. The truck started its life in Lewiston, Idaho where it was owned by Potlach Forest Inc. until 1958. Joe Dudek Sr. then purchased the truck. He had it repainted and built a flatbed for it. His name and city were painted on the driver’s door because it was the law to do so.
In the fall of 1958, Brian’s grandparents moved to Wisconsin. His grandpa drove the truck with everything they owned in the back of it. His grandma drove the car with the kids. They purchased Brian’s great grandpa’s farm in Redgrandit. The truck was used to haul hay and feed until 1977. It was retired to the field where it sat for 30 years in the weeds. Brian had longed to own it and asked his grandma if he could own it. In the fall of 2005, she said yes, and it was pulled out. In the fall of 2012, the old Chevy was back on the road and was revealed to the family at Brian’s sister’s wedding.
