SHARED-RIDE TAXI SERVICE

BERLIN PUBLIC TRANSIT
745 BROADWAY
BERLIN, WI 54923

ABOUT BERLIN PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE:

  • The City of Berlin contracts with a Vendor to provide Shared-Ride Taxi Service to the general public
  • Service area is the City of Berlin including a 5-mile radius surrounding the City
  • Fleet consists of two (2) caravans and two (2) lift vans
  • Wheelchair accessibility and door to door assistance for elderly and disabled
  • Shared-Ride Taxi Service is funded by Federal, State, and Local contributions

The service Berlin offers is a shared-ride taxi service and is not a solely demand-based service. An on-demand service would be immediate arrival, and is much more expensive. Such services might be offered by Uber or Lyft. Berlin instead offers a shared ride service, meaning people ride together. One of the many advantages of a shared-ride taxi service means the City is able to keep rates down because people ride together.

Please have the following information available when making a request for transportation:

  • the full address of where you are located
  • the full address of where you would like to be transported to
  • please inform the dispatcher of appointment times, but also keep in mind we are shared-ride, first-come first-served service so the dispatcher can only guess at what time the driver will be available.
